Eaton County (News 10) – As the heat index pushes toward triple digits, farmers at the Eaton County Fair are working to keep their livestock safe, using fans, misters and water to manage the effects of the heat.
Fairgoers are also being encouraged to find shade regularly, wear loose-fitting clothing and stay hydrated.
Keeping animals cool in the barns
Farmers and animal tenders are working throughout the day to prevent livestock from overheating. Fans inside the barns push hot air out, while misters provide both moisture and airflow for the animals.
