LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) — A former Fayette County Public Schools employee has filed a lawsuit against the Fayette County Public School Board and Superintendent Demetrus Liggins, alleging she was retaliated against after reporting what she describes as possible mismanagement of district funds.
In a verified complaint filed July 13th in Fayette Circuit Court, Mira Beth Muth says she worked for the district as District Wide Manager, Grants Accounting during the 2023-24, 2024-25 and 2025-26 school years. She alleges she repeatedly raised concerns internally about how grant funds were being handled and how financial information was being presented to district leadership, the school board and the public.
