The South Carolina Gamecocks baseball program is rebuilding under new head coach Kevin Schnall. Although the Gamecocks’ new head coach has done a great job at landing several players from the transfer portal, he has benefitted from some key returnees, as well.
One big piece of returning talent is infielder Patrick Evans. On Friday, the Gamecocks starter from last season posted a reel to his Instagram account, which was captioned “Year 2!”
This is a big deal for the Gamecocks, as Evans made 50 starts for South Carolina last season. He is a playmaker on offense, as he had a .455 slugging percentage, including 25 runs scored with 14 doubles, two triples and eight homers, along with eight home runs and 20 RBI.
