Man dead after police shooting in Boise

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — During a briefing, the Boise Police Department (BPD) reported that, around 9:51 a.m., officers responded to a man who called Ada County dispatch and indicated he wanted to commit suicide.

The man said he was near the Chevron gas station. Officers contacted the gas station and asked them to go into lockdown.

Around 9:59 a.m., officers contacted the man, who, officers say, immediately presented a knife. Officers attempted to de-escalate the situation, but ultimately deployed less-lethal rounds to stop further confrontation. The subject continued to move towards the two officers, who both fired their weapons…
