WATERVLIET, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Hudson Shores Park once again has its own seasonal restaurant in Watervliet. Mayor Charles Patricelli announced that after nearly seven years, an establishment is back at the waterfront to replace the former Rusty Anchor barge.

The Hudson Shore Tavern will operate seasonally through the outdoor dining months. Patrons can expect a casual atmosphere to enjoy food, drinks accompanied by waterfront views of the Hudson River.
The tavern sits a short distance from where the Rusty Anchor barge operated. The waterfront was left without a hospitality venue after the barge broke free during severe weather in 2019 and was heavily damaged after striking the Livingston Rail Bridge in Albany.
“Since that time, I’ve wanted to bring a gathering place back to Hudson Shores Park,” said Patricelli. “I’m thrilled that visitors can once again enjoy food and drinks along our riverfront. This isn’t meant to compete with the outstanding taverns and restaurants we already have throughout Watervliet. Instead, it offers another unique destination that showcases everything our city has to offer.”

The announcement comes after the city explored opportunities to bring a restaurant or tavern back to Hudson Shores Park for several years.
