MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The State Bureau of Investigations is looking into an inmate death at the Mecklenburg County Detention Center-Central.
The sheriff’s office reported Monday that on August 2, around 8:55 a.m., a medical emergency was called by a detention officer. Todd Williams, 59, was found unresponsive inside his housing unit. The officer attempted life-saving measures before Mecklenburg EMS arrived around 9:16 a.m.
Williams was transported to the hospital at 9:40 a.m. Officials say he was pronounced deceased on August 3 at 3:37 a.m…
