ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Clarissa Street Legacy is hosting two community events on Thursday, Aug. 6 offering the media and the public a preview of the new Clarissa Street Legacy Comic Book Project.
Youth creators and artists will introduce original comic characters inspired by Clarissa Street at the comic book preview. Following that, members of the Clarissa Street Legacy Committee will join “The Everyday People Show with Radical Rashad” for a live radio broadcast.
When & where
The comic book preview will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at 740 University Ave. and the Clarissa Street Reunion Radio Takeover will follow from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
28th Annual Clarissa Street Reunion event
The annual event celebrates the neighborhood that was a hub of Black-owned businesses and music in the 1950s.
Community members can attend the reunion event from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15 on Clarissa St. The reunion will feature a full day of food. Attendees can also experience live music on three stages…
