Reno woman arrested after Crystal Peak wildfire investigation

SIERRA COUNTY, Nev. (KOLO) – A Reno woman was arrested after a fire broke out at her campsite near Crystal Peak Mine in the Dog Valley, according to a Wednesday, Aug. 5, Sierra County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post.

On Wednesday morning, the Sierra County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vegetation fire after receiving a report of smoke visible from a nearby residence, deputies said.

During the investigation, deputies said they found evidence that led them to identify 50-year-old Sarah Ortstadt of Reno as the person allegedly responsible for the fire…
