A Marrero man accused of stabbing his girlfriend to death, torching her car and then trying to hide her body in a wooded area of the West Bank was found guilty of second-degree murder Thursday.
A Jefferson Parish jury found Nathaniel Hernandez, 43, guilty in the 2022 murder of 32-year-old Sara Torello after deliberating for less than two hours, according to the Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office. He was also found guilty on a count of obstruction of justice for tampering with evidence.
Hernandez had a history of domestic violence against Torello, according to the District Attorney’s Office, and had a prior conviction of battery on a dating partner involving a previous girlfriend in 2020…
