NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Following an early water main break in Algiers, a precautionary boil water advisory is in effect for Westbank residents on Saturday, Aug. 8, the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans announced.
SWBNO officials said the main was damaged early Saturday morning by a contractor working in the area. When the break occurred, crews responded to isolate it.
Water pressure has been restored for the majority of residents in the area; however, some are still experiencing low water pressure.
Those areas include the following:
- General DeGaulle
- Highway 428
- the Parish Line
- between General DeGaulle, Wall Boulevard and Westbend Parkway
