Lucas County approves demolition of old LC4 building, looks to repurpose several properties

LUCAS CO., Ohio (WTVG) – Lucas County commissioners have approved a demolition contract for the former Lucas County Canine Care and Control building on Erie Street in downtown Toledo, as the county moves to repurpose several properties it controls.

The building has been vacant since animals were relocated to a new facility. Commissioners approved the demo contract Tuesday.

‘Closing that chapter’

Lucas County Commissioner Lisa Sobecki said the demolition marks a significant milestone.
