TOWN OF TURTLE, WIS. (WTVO) — The Town of Turtle faces a potential 700% increase in costs to retain emergency medical services from the City of Beloit under a proposed agreement.
Under the new proposal, the town’s annual payment would jump to $225,000, compared to the historical range of $23,000 to $27,000 paid annually over the past 10 years according to City of Beloit officials. The proposal comes as the City and Town of Beloit are working to merge their fire and EMS services in 2027.
The City of Beloit sent a notice to the Town of Turtle in July declaring its intent to terminate the existing EMS contract to renegotiate terms.
