To the editor: Don’t let perfect be enemy of good

Our elected officials on Toledo City Council and the Board of Lucas County Commissioners occupy some of the most challenging roles in public service. They are entrusted with making decisions that affect the safety, vitality, and financial well-being of greater Toledo, all while balancing competing priorities and perspectives from across the community.

As the debate surrounding whether to renew contracts for Flock camera technology heats up, I urge our local public servants to fully appreciate the important role this tool plays in protecting public safety and assisting law enforcement in solving violent crimes.

Having served as a trial court judge for nearly a decade, I have witnessed firsthand how frequently this technology has helped investigators identify suspects, develop leads, and bring violent offenders to justice.
