Central Kansas sheriff’s deputy put on leave after hosting party with minors

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A Chase County sheriff’s deputy has been fired after a large party was thrown on his property with several minors in attendance.

Chase County Sheriff Jacob Welsh sent out a press release on Thursday regarding the deputy’s actions and the party, which was reported shortly before midnight on Aug. 7 near Cedar Point.

Alleged fight between Sedgwick County detention deputies leads to one’s arrest

When deputies arrived, they handed out several citations to people under the age of 21 who were consuming alcohol, the sheriff said.

During the investigation, it was determined that the party was hosted on property owned by an off-duty deputy. The deputy was originally placed on administrative leave, but the sheriff said that the deputy is no longer employed by the department…
