50th Lazy Daze festival draws hundreds of artists, thousands of visitors to Downtown Cary

More than 250 artists from across the United States gathered in downtown Cary this weekend for the 50th annual Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival, a milestone celebration of one of the Triangle’s longest-running community traditions.

The juried festival, held Aug. 22-23, featured artists representing more than 20 states and showcasing original work in 17 art categories. Visitors explored handcrafted pieces, watched live demonstrations, enjoyed music performances and participated in family-friendly activities throughout the festival grounds.

“The community really comes together,” said festival organizer Jenna Kostka. “They’re already here, celebrating, enjoying this really amazing experience. It’s great to see your neighbors come out and to see some new art and just enjoy the whole festival.”…
