ST. LOUIS — A major bridge project is coming to south St. Louis, with MoDOT planning to replace the Loughborough and Weber bridges over Interstate 55 beginning in 2027.
The project will replace the aging bridges while also making changes designed to improve safety and bring the interchange up to modern standards.
“It’s important work to do. MoDOT makes sure to maintain bridges over many years with lots of treatments, rehabs over time. But these two bridges are at the end of their useful life.
