NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – A former New Orleans Police Department officer says the agency she used to work for failed her after her son was allegedly killed by a man wanted on five outstanding warrants.
“It’s a slap in my face to have my son killed in the streets — and then killed in the streets in the district that I patrolled,” said Latasha Foucha in an interview Wednesday evening.
This past May in New Orleans East, a shooting killed Foucha’s son, 25-year-old Nicholas Dent. A Fox 8 investigation found the suspect in Dent’s homicide, Marcus McDaniel Jr., had five warrants out for his arrest at the time Dent was killed, all of which were domestic violence-related.
