Battery-backed dc fast charging expands for Colorado fleets

Xos received a follow-on order from Xcel Energy for three additional Xos Hub mobile energy storage and charging systems to support electric vehicle (EV) charging in Colorado.

Two units will be deployed at Xcel Energy service centers in Arvada and Grand Junction to provide dc fast charging for fleet vehicles. A third unit will support temporary EV charging in the Denver area during transmission construction projects that interrupt access to residential charging.

The Xos Hub combines battery energy storage with dc fast charging in a mobile system that can be deployed without waiting for permanent charging infrastructure upgrades.

The platform is available with 210, 420, or 630 kWh of onboard battery capacity and supports up to 150 kW of charging power per CCS1 charge head…
