A host of high-schoolers have turned their passion for creating art into helping people in need.
Members of the Creative Art Student Society (CASS), which features students from Mercer Island and other Eastside cities, displayed their handcrafted wax tablets at the Island’s Arts at the Market event on Aug. 30 and informed attendees that 100% of the proceeds from their sales will support families affected by the Spokane wildfires.
On its website, the 10-student nonprofit announced that it raised $2,000 to send to the Spokane H.O.M.E. Starts Here Fund through the sale of the tablets and soaps at the market and through online orders…
