Rochester’s only permitted homeless encampment is slated to resume operating after over three years on hiatus. It’s expected to cost nearly $2 million per year.
This month, the Rochester City Council is slated to vote on granting $1.2 million to City Roots Community Land Trust to operate Peace Village on Industrial Street, which it owns and manages. That money is coming from the city’s share of a state settlement with opioid manufacturers.
