GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – The Green Bay Metro Fire Department says a car hit a utility pole on Shawano Ave. Wednesday morning, trapping the driver beneath live power lines and setting fire to a nearby house.
First responders were called at 8:21 a.m. and found the driver alone and trapped in the car. Emergency crews managed to extract the driver and took them to a hospital.
The crash knocked a power pole down onto a house, and firefighters could see smoke. Once Wisconsin Public Service secured the power, firefighters were able to put out the fire. The damage was limited, estimated at about $5,000…
