GREEN BAY, Wis. — A downtown Green Bay building more than 100 years old has stood for over a century but has sat empty for more than 10 years. The Green Bay Landmarks Commission is now targeting the building, at 402 Dousman St., for “demolition by neglect.”
City officials say the property is a recognized historical landmark on a highly visible corner of the city. Officials say the term “demolition by neglect” means an owner is willingly choosing to let history decay until it can no longer be saved.
The three-story landmark was built in the early 1900s and was once a symbol of Green Bay’s commercial roots.
