Atlanta police are working to track down suspects and a motive in a deadly shooting Wednesday morning at a southeast Atlanta park. Police don’t believe the crime was random.
An officer doing routine patrol around 9 a.m. Wednesday in South Bend Park came upon a car parked in an unusual spot with no one around. The discovery was near Lakewood Amphitheater.
“He proceeded to check the outside areas and found a male, lying down in the field. Upon observing the male, he noticed a large amount of blood. Then he noticed what appeared to be some gunshot wounds in the torso. At that point he alerted homicide, and we reported to the scene,” Atlanta Police Homicide Commander Lt. Christapher Butler told Channel 2’s Tom Regan.
