Car loses tire on highway and strikes, seriously injures Eastern Washington coffee stand employee in ‘freak accident’

A Deer Park coffee stand employee broke her femur and pelvis after a wheel dislodged from a car traveling on U.S. Highway 395, rolled off the road and struck her while she was working outside the business Tuesday morning.

A 2005 Honda Pilot was heading south on the highway about 8:40 a.m., just north of Cleveland Road, when a wheel came off the car and rolled across a parking lot, striking Hannah Petty, 34, of Clayton, according to a Washington State Patrol news release.
