Memphis police officer injured in crash deemed at fault, MPD says

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A Memphis police officer was injured Monday morning in a crash on South Mendenhall Road, and police say the officer was cited for disregarding a red light.

At 4:46 a.m, officers arrived on the scene of a two-vehicle crash involving the cruiser and a white pickup truck at the intersection of South Mendenhall Road and Winchester Road.

An MPD officer was transported to the hospital in non-critical condition.
