News10NBC Investigates: Three months after a News10 exposed them, Monroe County votes to tear down a row of abandoned homes it owns

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — News10NBC Chief Investigative Reporter Berkeley Brean exposed a row of rundown, abandoned homes owned by Monroe County and the airport in June, and three months later, the county voted to demolish them.

Crews were clearing asbestos from two homes on Beahan Road on Tuesday. One house was already cleared and ready to come down. A total of five houses will be razed.

“Just won’t have an eyesore of abandoned houses with animals and people getting in them,” said Chris Judd, who lives across Beahan Road from the vacant homes.
