MADISON, Wis. — Improperly discarded cigarettes caused a fire at an apartment complex on Milwaukee Street on Thursday night, according to the Madison Fire Department.
The fire occurred in the 6000 block of Milwaukee Street at 8:31 p.m. where the fire was caught and extinguished quickly by an automatic fire sprinkler. Fire crews found alarms sounding, and people had evacuated the apartment complex.
