A convenience store owner is facing a homicide charge after allegedly allowing an 18-year-old from Wildwood to consume a lethal amount of alcohol inside his shop just minutes before a fatal wrong-way crash.
Sami Joseph Kasselyas, 69, was booked Saturday morning at the Sumter County Detention Center and is being held without bond on a charge of homicide by culpable negligence in connection with the April 20 death of Zachary Shiloh Davis.
According to an arrest affidavit from the Florida Highway Patrol, Davis was driving the wrong way on U.S. 301, north of County Road 656 in Sumter County, when his pickup truck collided head-on with another truck at 8:46 p.m.
A toxicology report later revealed the teen had a blood alcohol content of 0.510. This amount is more than five times the legal limit and is considered a lethal level of toxicity…
