After Ocala-News.com published a story about the upcoming vote for contracts with four of Ocala’s top positions, multiple readers wrote comments and letters to the editor to share their opinions on the matter. Here are a couple of those letters and:
“I say let the four contracts expire and put new people in that are not taking advantage of the tax payers. No way in the world should the city pay all these added perks. Really, 20 percent paid to the 401 k? It’s insane how much the people are letting them get away with. I’m sure the ones who give the go ahead are going to be taking care of as well. “Their salaries should be throttled back in line with other cities and the pay raises voted on by the people. They advise us to save water, yet issue more building permits. Let’s take care of our teacher’s salaries before compensating more to the three already highest paid employees.” – Claude Roy, Ocala…
