A pair of suspected drug sellers in a vehicle with heavily tinted windows were arrested with 21 grams of methamphetamine after they were spotted at Wawa.
Darren Michael Green, 41, and Richard Edward Groth, 40, both of Belleview, were traveling in a silver 2011 Toyota Tundra at 10:37 a.m. Wednesday when a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy noticed the vehicle’s dark window tint at the Wawa at U.S. 301 and County Road 466 in Oxford.
The deputy initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of U.S. 301 and County Road 201. A tint meter reading revealed the front driver’s side window allowed only 3 percent light transmittance, which is a violation of Florida law.
While retrieving the men’s information, the deputy noted that Groth, the front-seat passenger, was sweating profusely, fidgeting and acting anxious. A sheriff’s K-9 unit was summoned to the scene, and a dog named Dwight alerted to the presence of drugs in the pickup truck…
