ANN ARBOR, MI — Pedestrian and bicycle safety advocates aired their concerns with the Ann Arbor City Council on Tuesday night, Sept. 22, urging city leaders to “fix dangerous streets now.”
After going for a demonstration ride along Division Street, where they want to see the protected bikeway there expanded to the Broadway bridges, they rallied outside city hall. Several spoke out before and during the council meeting.
“I think it’s important to make Ann Arbor a safe place for bikes,” said University of Michigan professor Matthew O’Meara, who went on the ride with his daughter. “I think there’s a lot we can do to improve the infrastructure and engineering to make the community more welcoming to everybody.”…
