NORTH SHELBY — The Hoover Police Department helped make traffic stops less stressful for impaired residents at its first blue envelope event on Tuesday, Sept. 22.
The program provides individuals who may have difficulty communicating a blue envelope to keep in their car. In the event of a traffic stop, the person can hand the officer the envelope, which contains all of their information, so the officer can properly handle the situation.
Alongside the envelope itself, drivers receive a blue seatbelt cover that officers can quickly identify during a stop to make the interaction as calm and quick as possible…
