The Rainbow Club Casino in Downtown Henderson celebrated its 59th anniversary Saturday, Sept. 19, with a daylong celebration honoring nearly six decades of serving the Henderson community.
Guests were treated to complimentary slow-smoked beef brisket sandwiches, hors d’oeuvres, frozen drinks and anniversary cake throughout the day. The celebration also featured opportunities for guests to win cash prizes, adding to the festivities as the longtime Henderson casino marked another milestone.
The Rainbow Club’s history is closely tied to the origins of Henderson itself. The building that now houses the casino was constructed during World War II as part of the community established to provide goods and services for workers at the Basic Magnesium Inc. plant. The location originally operated as a grocery store before becoming the Rainbow Club Casino in 1967…
