A new housing project is working to confront Ann Arbor’s history of discriminatory housing practices.
The Dunbar Tower project is a six-story, 63-unit affordable housing initiative aiming to address some of these historic effects. Located in Kerrytown at the intersection of Catherine Street and Fourth Avenue, construction on the Dunbar Tower project began in April 2024.
The housing project, co-developed by the Ann Arbor Housing Commission and Avalon Housing offers housing for qualifying low-income and unhoused residents. It opened in February 2026…
