BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A man is facing drug trafficking and possession charges after a home in Birmingham was searched by police.
According to the Homewood Police Department, the case originated in Homewood before a search warrant was issued for a residence in the 2400 block of Francis Avenue Southwest on Thursday, Sept. 24.
While on the property, police found and seized two guns, $3,900 in cash and narcotics, including:
- 1.5 pounds of cocaine
- 6 ounces of methamphetamine
- 7.5 ounces of ecstasy/MDMA
- 0.75 pounds of marijuana
- 70 controlled prescription pills
- Drug packaging materials
- Two firearms
- $3,900 in cash
The suspect, Demetrius Dawayne Davis, 47, of Birmingham, was taken into custody and charged with:
- Drug Trafficking – Cocaine
- Certain person forbidden to possess a firearm
- Drug Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Drug Trafficking – Ecstasy/MDMA
- Unlawful Possession of Marijuana
- Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Police said Davis is a convicted felon with a lengthy criminal record. He was taken to the Jefferson County Jail and is being held on a $255,500 bond…
