A Weirsdale woman was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence after drifting into the bike lane with wine in the backseat of her vehicle.
An officer observed 29-year-old Jasmine Coleman driving a black Camaro northbound in the right lane of U.S. Hwy. 27/441 around 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Fruitland Park Police Department.
The vehicle drifted into the bike lane multiple times, straddling the fog line for several seconds at a time. After the officer pulled behind the vehicle, it took a wide right turn onto Eagles Nest Road and crossed into the oncoming turn lane. The officer then stopped the vehicle and explained his reasoning to Coleman, the report said.
She was smoking a cigarette at the time and put it out on the pavement right outside her door. Her speech was slurred, and her eyes appeared to be bloodshot and watery. Now without the cigarette, her breath smelled of alcohol, the report said…
