LEEDS, Ala. (WBMA) — A search is underway in Leeds after a man driving a reportedly stolen truck fled from Leeds Police and ran into a wooded area, according to Leeds Police Chief Paul Irwin.
Irwin said the suspect, described as a Hispanic male, bailed out of the truck along U.S. 119, across from Callaway’s Store, and ran into a nearby woodline.
According to Irwin, the suspect later entered a resident’s backyard. A citizen reportedly encountered the man, and the two had a confrontation. Irwin said the suspect threw objects at the citizen, who then fired shots into the ground in an attempt to scare the suspect away…
