Pedestrian killed after being struck by train, shutting down several Fort Lauderdale roads: Cops

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A pedestrian was struck and killed by an FEC freight train just before 10 a.m. Friday near the Andrews Avenue and Flagler Drive crossing in Fort Lauderdale, police confirmed.

Fort Lauderdale police said the pedestrian, who has not been identified at this time, was pronounced dead at the scene, and the train remains stopped on the tracks as police conduct an investigation.
