20 years since Lancaster County Amish schoolhouse shooting

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– Friday marks 20 years since the deadly mass shooting at an Amish schoolhouse in Nickel Mines, Lancaster County.

According to police, milk truck driver Charles Roberts barricaded himself inside the schoolhouse on October 2, 2006, taking 10 girls between the ages of six and 13 hostage in the process.

Roberts tied the girls up and shot and killed five of the girls before turning the gun on himself. Five girls survived the horrific incident.
