How to navigate BLINK safely, plus road closures you should know about

CINCINNATI (WKRC) — If you’re planning to check out BLINK next weekend, organizers say plan ahead.

Cincinnati Police and Fire officials are already preparing for the crowds. You can also sign up to get emergency alerts sent to your phone. The CincyAlert program is powered by Smart911, and you can sign up here.

During BLINK, the city’s emergency operations center will be up and running. There will also be command posts around downtown and Over-the-Rhine.

“We have almost 100 police officers throughout the event, purely dedicated to the BLINK event, in addition to the district coverage. And then we have, because we seal off almost 30 blocks of city area, we have fire companies, ambulances, that are inside the event dedicated to staying inside to protect the more than 2 million people that we hope to host for the event itself,” said Cincinnati Fire Department Assistant Chief Matt Flagler…
