Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a large barn fire along Laytonsville Road (Route 108) in Laytonsville early Monday morning.
According to MCFRS spokesperson Pete Piringer, the approximately 100-by-75-foot hay barn was well-involved when firefighters arrived. More than 65 firefighters responded, and the barn is considered a total loss.
The fire has been contained and brought under control, but crews continue to extinguish hot spots and conduct extensive overhaul operations. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation…
