Gaithersburg is getting a unique and adorable new lounge experience-and it’s going to be the cat’s meow, thanks to its furry inhabitants. CatLands will be inviting locals get their feline fix, all while helping the titular four-legged friends find forever homes when it opens later this year.
The lounge will be opening at 375 Main Street as part of the Kentlands neighborhood. Owner Shannon Irlander generously made some time to fill What Now DC in on all that CatLands will have to offer visitors once it opens its doors. She describes the lounge, saying: “Catlands is an adoptable cat lounge coming to Kentlands in Gaithersburg. My goal is to create a space that feels completely different from a traditional shelter or cat cafe- warm, beautiful and welcoming, where guests can relax and spend meaningful time with free-roaming adoptable cats while helping them find their forever homes.”
CatLands will offer visitors a variety of ways to meet and interact with the establishment’s various kitties. Whether they prefer just hanging out and mingling with the cats or finding the perfect companion to join in their wellness routine, Irlander and her team have it covered. She explains: “We’ll offer 50-minute lounge visits along with special programming and events, including cat yoga, children’s events, trivia and bingo nights, as well as private events.”…
