Driver questions Kissimmee school zone signage after speeding ticket

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Osceola County officials say they will inspect a stretch of Thacker Avenue near Thacker Avenue Elementary School after a driver questioned whether the school zone is clearly marked for people turning off Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Tod Orazi said he received a ticket for speeding in the school zone while driving south on Thacker Avenue. He said he knew he was in a school zone while driving west on MLK Jr. Boulevard, but thought he had left it after turning onto Thacker Avenue because he did not see another school zone sign.

“I never speed in school zones and I pay attention,” Orazi said. “That’s why that one totally surprised me.”…
