Next week, we are hosting our Elementary School Conference Days from Tuesday, Oct. 13, through Friday, Oct. 16. These conferences, developed in response to parent and teacher feedback, are an opportunity for elementary school parents to partner with their child’s teacher to review academic progress and areas for support. Please review the following important scheduling and transportation reminders.
SCHEDULE (OCT. 13–16)
- Elementary Schools: Dismiss early at 11:30 a.m.
- Middle and High Schools, Tippens EC and Special Education Half-Day Preschool: Dismiss at their regular times.
BUS TRANSPORTATION
- Early Drop-Off: Elementary buses will run their usual routes but will arrive at stops approximately 2.5 hours earlier than usual. Please be at the bus stop to meet Grade 3 and younger students at 2.5 hours earlier than the typical arrival time.
- Special Education Buses: Elementary school Special Education buses will depart as timely as possible at 11:30 a.m.
- Track the Bus: We highly recommend using the Versatrans My Stop App to track your child’s bus in real-time (the app tracks the bus 15 minutes prior to arrival). App info and login details are available at: https://www.cherokeek12.net/divisions/support-services/transportation
- Safety: CCSD Police and CCSD and Cherokee Sheriff’s Office crossing guards will be on elementary campuses to assist with the 11:30 a.m. dismissal.
AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM (ASP)
- Special ASP Session (11:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.): If needed, elementary schools are offering an extended ASP session during these hours at no cost. If an elementary school parent as questions about sign-up, we ask you to please contact your child’s school. Note: Buses will not run at 2:15 p.m. If your child stays for this session, you must pick them up by 2:15 p.m.
- Regular ASP Session (2:15 to 6 p.m.): This will run as usual at standard rates. Please use our standard sign-up system if you need care past 2:15 p.m.
SCHOOL NUTRITION
- Breakfast and to-go lunches will be available for elementary students to purchase.
- Free or reduced-price breakfast and to-go lunches will be available to all qualifying students.
