NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The drought monitor was updated on Thursday morning, and now all of Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky is experiencing moderate or severe drought conditions.
Since the beginning of the year, rain has been rare across Middle Tennessee, especially north of Music City.
Nashville has only received 8.75″ of rainfall since Jan. 1, and the average for that span is over 14″. This is the driest start to a year since 2007 and the ninth driest start to a year in Nashville since records began in the 1800s.
Clarksville has only recorded 4.72″ of rain since the beginning of the year, making it the driest start to a year on record! The average rainfall for Clarksville is around 14.5″…
