Fort Wayne organizations hope to microchip more than 500 dogs, cats with event

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Local animal advocacy groups are teaming up to host a community microchip event for pets.

Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control, Humane Fort Wayne, the Fort Wayne Pitbull Coalition, and Lost Dogs of Fort Wayne hope to microchip more than 500 dogs and cats.

The microchips are $5 each at five locations across the city, including:

  • 4914 S Hanna Street (Humane Fort Wayne – pet food pantry)
  • 1333 Maycrest Drive (Humane Fort Wayne – spay/neuter clinic)
  • 901 St Francis Drive (Humane Fort Wayne – Clinic Plus location)
  • 3939 Parnell Ave Ste A (Fort Wayne Pitbull Coalition)
  • 3020 Hillegas Road (Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control)

The event will be held on May 23 from noon to 3 p.m…
