Three women charged in Waffle House seat dispute that sent diner to hospital

Three Wildwood women have been arrested for their involvement in a seat dispute at Waffle House that erupted in a brawl, ultimately sending a customer to the hospital.

Four women, three of whom have been identified as 21-year-old Au’chyna Gordon, 20-year-old Ber’niya Rowe and 20-year-old Justice Akira Wilson, walked into Waffle House, located at 7954 NE Eighth Way, Wildwood, around 2:05 a.m., March 9, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

The group came in with raised voices and shouted across the dining room as a man got up from his chair at the counter to smoke a cigarette outside. One of the women then took his seat, which he announced was his when he came back inside. This started a loud verbal altercation between him and the women, the report said.

The man ultimately paid his bill and left as the women continued to yell and scream at him. A few minutes later, four more men arrived at the restaurant, two of whom became involved in a riot later on, the report said…
