Russian Hill residents tired of trekking across town for a proper bagel are about to get some relief. Bageletto, the Mission-born bagel shop that set up a production kitchen on 14th Street last year, is bringing its all-day bagel program to Polk Street, turning a former coffee chain outpost into a sit-down cafe built around Mission-made bagels.
The new location will move into 2193 Polk St., the former Peet’s between Broadway and Vallejo. As reported by The San Francisco Standard, the team is aiming for a late-spring debut and plans to run the Polk cafe as a full-service spot featuring a dining counter, sandwiches and house-cured meats, rather than another production-heavy operation.
