Birthday Celebration Turns Tragic: Indian National Drowns at US Waterfall

St. Louis, MO, April 13, 2026: A 26-year-old software engineer from Andhra Pradesh, India, died in a tragic drowning incident in the United States while celebrating his birthday with friends at a waterfall. Singireddy Sai Srihari Krishna, a native of Bobbili, drowned at Meramec State Park—located about an hour southwest of St. Louis—where he had gone with two Telugu colleagues to mark his 26th birthday on Sunday. He ventured into the pool at the waterfall but was swept away by a strong current.

According to accounts, Krishna, who was known to be a confident swimmer, entered the water voluntarily. Within minutes, he was caught in a powerful current described in reports as a whirlpool and was pulled away. Despite efforts by his friends to rescue him, they were unable to reach him due to the force of the water and the depth of the pool.
