VANCOUVER, Wash. — Crystal Wallace and her family are grateful their 13-year-old son, Brayden Wallace, is alive after he was hit by a pick-up truck on April 7.
He was reportedly walking with friends along the shoulder of the road just before 8:30 p.m. when he was hit, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. The road does not have a sidewalk on either side. It was during spring break and he was heading back to his house, which is just a few hundred feet away from the street. His parents heard the impact.
“Thirty seconds, a minute later, his friend came running down on his bike and told us Brayden had been hit by something,” she said. “We ran down there and found him laying in the ditch, against the fence, just stiff, unconscious. My husband was holding him, talking to him, telling him to stay with him.”…
